Life in ArizonaAfter selling our home, property, and boat in Washington in August 2022, we lived in an RV park model in Gold Canyon while our house was being built in Green Valley/Sahuarita south of Tucson. We loved our friends and the activities, but wanted to just settle in one place. We moved in last on June 3, 2023. Houses are still being built around us, and we're still doing finishing touches. But we're settled now, and after the long interruption, that feels pretty great.
What we gave up We left a lot of joy and beauty behind in the northwest. If you want to see what it was like, here are pages showing the evolution of our house in the woods and the many adventures we had on our beloved boats. Southwest explorationsMonument Valley and Canyon de Chelly
Not far from the Grand Canyon, yet seldom mentioned in the same breath, Monument Valley and Canyon De Chelly (pronounced de Shay) are equally awe inspiring. They sit in the northeast corner of Arizona and spill into Utah and New Mexico. We toured them in September 2022. In answer to many questions, here's how I do it.
